After completing Universal Design, learners are encouraged to reflect on and discuss their experiences, and make development plans. At the end of the unit, learners must complete the Planning for Realistic Improvement Foundation Phase Programme (Preparation Programme) and submit a Final Planning Checklist. This checklist is used to set students up for further learning in the UK, including skills in self-evaluation.
There are a wide number of tools available for this purpose. Most online options (such as Google Drive or Google docs) offer basic features. However, you may want to use an advance tool, such as Dyp-pdf, which supports complex and advanced options such as templates, websites, using icons as well as images. You can also check newspaper website templates on the Internet. These workshops grapple with the logical flow of topics in mathematics teaching while focusing on the critical relationship between English and mathematics at each step of the curriculum.
A sample of a typical Basic Workshop Plan—with the working process and the learning goals integrated with the core materials—is shown in Figure 2a. This begins by introducing and elaborating the key ideas of the unit. For example, you may choose to present, within a structured format, Symmetry: Three Centric Points of View using video, images and interactive multimedia. The rationales underpinning the thinking are then introduced in a developmentally appropriate way. For instance, students may be presented with evidence that the rationales support their thinking about the role of symmetry in mathematics, and the demonstration of this is shown in the videos they have watched. In subsequent lessons, the presentation of Wright’s Triangle can be linked to the working process of the unit. The completion of the Introduction will be followed by the empirical approach of Task Analysis.
In the Final Workshop, the aim is to push students to construct their own interpretation of what they have achieved. This will involve them elaborating and reflecting on how the ideas of the unit have contributed to their understanding. d2c66b5586
